D4EVF Donates Dental Equipment To The Las Piñas Dental Chapter, PDA

Part of the mission of Dentistry For Every Village Foundation (D4EVF) is to provide support to dental organizations that are involve in providing free dental services to the poor and underserved.

For many years dating back to its inception as a chapter of the Philippine Dental Association, the Las Piñas Dental Chapter (LPDC,PDA) has been involved in “charity outreach missions” in and around their area of responsibility.

Unfortunately, due to certain exigencies, there are instances where providing the services are difficult at best. This is mainly due to the lack of enough portable equipment that are easy to transport in the remote locations where most of the missions are done.

The circumstances in some instances led to extraction of decayed teeth that has some chances to be kept if there were equipment to treat them accordingly. Many times , in missions they conduct, members of the chapter bring their own personal equipment so that the above problem can be minimized.

The situation has long been known by the Foundation leadership. But the timing and the availability of equipment to donate prevented them from lending a hand to correct the situation.

Lately however, the Foundation has started to curtail the outreach missions they did quarterly. This is brought about by the shifting of the focus of the Foundation, from doing frequent dental missions to building charity dental offices that are donated to health care entities all over the Philippines that can manage them and provide free dental services to their communities

The Foundation has plenty of portable equipment stocked in the Philippines that are meant for outreach missions. Therefore, a decision was made to donate some of them to the Las Piñas Dental Chapter.

The transfer of equipment was done June 26, 2025, during the LPDC First Annual Scientific Meeting and Installation of Officers for the YT 2025-2026 held at the Bellevue Hotel, Muntinglupa, Metro Manila.

The transfer of equipment was made possible through the efforts of the 36th President of the Chapter, Dr. Maria Delia Saquido- Picardal and a two past Presidents, Dr. Maria Leah Imperio and Dr. Amry Jane Chavez -Noza.

Amongst the equipment transferred were dental air compressors, ultrasonic oral prophylaxis units, portable dental units with hand instruments and portable suction units.

The equipment will be under the care of Dr. Imperio and will be available to all members of the Chapter that are going out to depressed communities to provided dental services for free.
