Our Lady of the Pillar Parish and D4EVF Signs MOA For a Free Clinic

October 19, 2025, is a day to remember.

This is the day representatives of two benevolent entities got together and agreed to build a charity dental clinic for the poor and the underserved people of Las Piñas.

The representatives of the two entities, Our Lady of the Pillar Parish, located at Pilar Village at Las Piñas and Dentistry For Every Village Foundation after a serious discussion to go over details, agreed on all the set conditions and signed a Memorandum of Agreement to kick start the project.

Signing for the Parish was Rev. Father Christian Emmanuel Gabinete, the Parish Priest. Dr. Maria Leah Imperio, the Philippine Section Liaison for the Foundation signed for the Foundation. Witnessing the event were Dr. Maria Delia Saquido Picardal the President of the PDA Las Piñas Chapter, her tireless EVP, Dr. Harry P. Vea, and Dr. Karlo Picardal. Also present were Dr. Adora Vea and Ms. Vanessa Gabinete.

The Parish agreed to provide a space to build the clinic and manage it to assure its full year- round operations to provide free dental care for the residents within its wide area of responsibility. In addition, the remodeling of the space to create a dental clinic will also be fully funded by the Parish. All these are part of the Parish’ health care ministry in service of the community’s well-being.

Dentistry For Every Village Foundation will provide and install all the necessary dental equipment for the clinic. Amongst them is a high-end sterilization alcove complete with a UV-C germicidal light to promote a germ-free space for critical instruments. They will also provide a digital hand-held x-ray unit and sensor that is run by a computer plus start-up dental supplies .

It is worthwhile to state that the digital x-ray package being provided will be something of a game-changer. For some reason or another, not too many free dental clinics in the Philippines, particularly those found in government-funded Rural Health Units have this package as a standard equipment.

Members of the PDA Las Piñas Chapter led by its incumbent President, Dr Saquido-Picardal stepped up to the plate and agreed to provide volunteers to man the clinic year- round. They will also use the clinic as their headquarters for the many dental missions they conduct throughout the year. In fact, the clinic will be called “Our Lady of the Pillar PDA Las Piñas Chapter Center for Humanitarian Dental Services”.

The establishment of the clinic will provide a closure for the long quest for a permanent place for the LPDC to do their public service obligation as a health care organization. With the clinic soon to be available, fulfilling that obligation will now be as easy as pie, simple and pleasurable.
