Christ The King Parish Project Completes 2018 Missions for D4EVF

Every November 14th for the last three years, the Foundation supported by members of the Las Piñas Dental Chapter of the Philippine Dental Association and the Group A Dental Associates holds a charity dental mission for the members of the Christ The King Parish and their neighbors.

Reports from the daylong mission indicate that 131 patients were seen and 173 procedures were provided including oral prophylaxis, (44) composite fillings (33), extractions (86), and fluoride/sealant application (10). Oral hygiene instructions were also done followed by the distribution of free toothbrushes and toothpaste.

The mission coincided with the Annual Fiesta of the Parish. Seventeen dentists came in as volunteers and were supported by nineteen volunteers from the parish. It was held at the upper parish hall of the church where power and water was available for the mission to be conducted.

With the completion of the Christ The King Parish Mission, the Foundation has completed all its 4 projected missions for the poor and the underserved for the year 2018.

Now focus will be shifted in identifying projects for 2019 so that corresponding fundraising activities can be planned and executed.

The Foundation wishes to extend its gratitude to all the donors and benefactors that made all the 2018 projects possible particularly to the International College of Dentists Global Visionary Fund, the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, the DLV Family Trust and the ABSCBN Lingkod Kapamilya Tulong Center, particularly Ms. Victoria Libao and Ms. Jasmin Gonzales.

In addition, the Foundation also extends its gratitude to Paradise Dental Technologies, United Medical Enterprises and their Philippine supporters- Dental Access Media Publication and Mr. Sid de la Cruz of the Pandora Dental Equipment.

Further, appreciation is also extended to the Malvar Rotary Club of Malvar, Batangas, Philippines headed by Dr. Roderick Macasaet, the various friends and associates of the D4EVF President, Ed de la Vega who never fails to give when asked.

Of course, the Missions would not have been completed if not for the Foundation’s many unnamed volunteers as well as it’s consistent supporters- members of the Las Piñas Dental Chapter of the Philippine Dental Association and the Group A Dental Associates headed by its untiring leader, Dr. Amry Jane Chavez. Members of these two groups of dentists would always respond to a call for volunteers within three days a call is made.

Looking forward to 2019.
